We are offering several adult spiritual exploration programs beginning this Fall 2026. Read below for program descriptions. Chalice CirclesSeasoned Souls (Ongoing)
Reflect on the joys, challenges, questions, and meaning-making that come with aging. Grounded in deep listening. Often much laughter and yes, sometimes tears. A great opportunity for both longtime and newer members of our congregation. There is space for new members in a few of the current groups.
Small Group Ministry (Fall/Winter)
The Small Group Ministry format encourages deep listening as participants share their thoughts on topics related to the month’s worship themes. This is a great opportunity to grow in relationships with other UCM folks in a small-group setting. A new session begins in October.
CareGivers Support Group (Ongoing)
As you encounter and worry about changes that you see in someone close to you, changes like declining memory or ability, the CareGivers Support Group may offer you a place of respite. A place to share your experience and your feelings, and to be heard and supported. New participants are always welcome.
Parent & Caregiver Meetup (Ongoing)
Reflect on the joys, challenges, questions, and meaning-making that come with caring for children and youth with love at the center. Generally meets the second Sunday of the month from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM after worship with childcare provided. New participants are always welcome.
Other Programs
Prayer: An Intimate Conversation with Yourself (Ongoing)
Explore prayer as a spiritual practice with a supportive group. This is a theologically-inclusive space. The first meeting of the year is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, at 11:45 AM. Please plan to attend the first meeting if you'd like to join this group for the year.
Prison Abolition Study (Two sessions)
Adult SE will collaborate with the Racial Justice Group (RJG) to lead two study group discussions in October, concerned with the issue of prison abolition. This topic is the focus of the UUA’s Congregational Study/Action Issue (CSAI) for the upcoming two years. All are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
Date with Death Club (Ten sessions)
Come learn how to prepare yourself and/or a loved one for the final journey. You will learn about everything from grappling with our universal fear to taking care of the most practical and important matters, so that your loved ones don't have to do the work for you after the fact. These sessions will continue once a month. You can join one, some, or all the sessions.
Poetry Writing Workshop (One time)
The Rev. John Burciaga will lead workshop on “Poetry: Not Just Pretty Words,” Saturday, October 17, from 10 AM to 3 PM. John is a longtime friend of UCM, retired UU minister, and published poet. Anyone who is interested in reading and exploring elements of poetry, its themes and authors, is welcome to attend.
